TURCO surface treatment specialities cover a wide range of industrial applications.
By surface treatment, we mean the conditioning of metals for subsequent treatment, the most common of which (but not the only one) is painting.

Typical surface treatment processes include a degreasing stage followed, in some cases, by neutralisation and, subsequently, the application itself.

PHOSPHATING
Phosphating, by immersion or spraying, protects against corrosion and aids the application, adhesion and appearance of paintwork, be this conventional, cataphoretic or electrodeposited. Additionally, proper phosphating ensures a uniform surface and hence lower paint consumption, a better shine and an optimal finish. TURCO is a pioneering manufacturer of phosphating agents, with products for every need: for use with different metals (steel, zinc, cadmium, aluminium, etc.) and of different types (amorphous, crystalline and microcrystalline, zinc, magnesium, etc.). Furthermore, and in conjunction with user companies, TURCO manages and supervises large-scale industrial phosphating installations.

BLUEING
This is a black or blue finish (gloss or matt) for steel parts, which gives them a long-lasting decorative and corrosion-resistant finish. Blueing attracts and retains lubricant oils. The treatment does not increase or decrease the size of the metals treated, and thus tolerances for part adjustments are not affected. Furthermore, the surfaces so treated may be welded, waxed, varnished or painted. TURCO produces blueing salts and the other elements used in combination with them, such as degreasers, rust protection, water-repellent protectors, etc.

RUST CONVERTERS
TURCO makes metal treatment products, which, when applied to rusty metal, transform the rust (iron oxide) into metal phosphates, providing an inert, hard, greyish surface which, due to is slight roughness and porosity, makes a firm base for paintwork. Another option is a product which, when applied to rusty metal, converts the rust into an insoluble iron salt, hermetically sealed by an organic resin. The resulting surface is an attractive black colour, which can be used as base for painting but which can also be used as the final decorative coating.

STAINLESS STEEL TREATMENTS
The TURCO product range also features solutions for stainless steel, such as strippers, degreasers and passivators.

ALUMINIUM TREATMENTS
TURCO also produces specific products for every stage of aluminium treatment, such as cleaning and degreasing, shining and mordanting, deoxidising, chromating, phosphating and passivating, stripping and decarbonising, protection, polishing, lubrication, cooling, etc.
