Furthermore, TURCO was a pioneer in the introduction of modern cleaning agents for compressors which are both environment-friendly and, at the same time, compatible with effectiveness requirements and the utmost respect for materials safety. As a result of this experience, TURCO can offer a comprehensive range of products for cleaning industrial gas turbines, including cleaning agents with different compositions, for all classic cleaning methods (e.g. abrasive) and for on-line and off-line cleaning. Studies prove TURCO cleaners’ power and ability to restore a turbine to optimum performance. On-line cleaning – Also known as hot washing, this can be carried out quickly, simply and effectively whilst the turbine is working. It allows for the prolongation of the times the turbine is operational, avoiding frequent downtime and ensuring constantly high performance levels. The special composition of TURCO cleaners ensures superior cleaning results, even in the high-temperature area at the back of the compressor. Off-line cleaning– This method, also known as cold or crank washing, is called for when a turbine’s performance falls below 94% of its potential power due to contamination and allows it to return to close to 100% nominal power. TURCO has developed both solvent and aqueous-based products for such cleaning tasks, which act quickly and safely. When combined with on-line cleaning, aqueous-based products allow for a lengthening of times between maintenance stops and high performance levels. Abrasive cleaning – This is an older system, although it is still used on numerous turbines. It consists of cleaning using an organic granulate which gives good cleaning results combined with an almost total absence of material corrosion. Although modern turbines do not usually allow for this type of cleaning, it continues to be used in many facilities today. TURCO organic abrasives carry out this task with proven effectiveness
